For today, I reviewed the the theory about Major 7 Chords and Dominant 7 Chords. I was a bit confused about this, because I don't know what's the different about Major 7 and dominant 7. But today I already understand about the differences of these two similar chords. The teacher told us to have pictures in my MDW. It must have the picture of my classical composer booklet and three screenshot of my blog.

At last, today me and my classmates got the MDW, maybe I am going to do this right away. But, I must continue my composition I only got 4 bars for A. I must seriously continue on this composition. Some of my classmates have done the composition and I only done A for my composition. Some of my friends who have done with their composition perform their A in front of the classmates. I have done A and B for today, and I am pretty satisfied with that.

Mr. John my music teacher is absent and there's Mr. Harry to substitute my theory music class. I need to start making the ABACA rondo composition from today. It's hard for me to find inspiration by only thinking. I am not very creative to make notes for my rondo composition, so I can't finish the composition today. But maybe I can find more inspiration at my house and finish the composition. Because my teacher is absent, me and my classmates can't get the MDW on time. Maybe I can get the MDW next week.

Rondo Composition 1-11-2011

It's hard to make my own ABACA Rondo composition. I'm not very creative so i can't do this assessment ver well. But I'm done with it and I am practicing it, I must still look at the paper, I haven"t remembered my own composition. But I must remember it for the assessment.

This song is taken from a guitar player, Sung Hajung, a korean guitarist. This song is taken from a movie called "The Pirates of Caribbean". I learn this in instrument session, my guitar techer taught me this song every time we're done with the theory class.

I am playing a classical song by Antonnio Lauro, Valz Venezolano 2. I play his music for the music fiesta. This is song is hard but when i practice it much it becomes much more easier and I'm ready for the music fiesta.

Today, we learn about the minor scales. Minor scales are unfamiliar for me, because i have just learn major scales and seldom to heard about minor scales. The natural scale of major is C but for minor, the natural scale is A minor scale. And i found the easy formula for minor scale to, like I did for the major scale. For the major scale, the fifth note will make the new scale and the fourth note will be sharped for the next scale. It's different from the minor scale, the fifth note will start the new scale and the sixth note will be sharped for the next scale.

We have done with the assessments. Today, we are discussing about next term, we are going to make our own composition. We have a homework to research about Rondo, how are we going to make the composition like. I have learn how to make our own composition before, in 7th grade. But before, we don't use rondo. But I know that there will be a pattern of the song like A B A' C A or any pattern like that. Maybe I should learn more about his thing called rondo, because I'm gonna use it for the next term assessment.

Today, one of the student do the assessment about playing a classical song because she haven't done the assessment. We have reviews about the major scales and other theory about music. Our blog have checked by the teachers and I am wrong at giving the blog address, so I must check my blog and give my real blog address. I need to make the posts in my blog, because I miss some of the meeting's reflection. Maybe I need to ask my friend about what are we doing in the music class for last week.

Today, the teacher shows us the score for all the assessments that we've done. The singing of the pop song, group slide presentation and the performance to play the classical music with our instruments. I haven't got the score for the booklet about my chosen composer, because the teacher haven't check it. Some of the students with good scores in singing and playing classical song will do it again and get recorded. It will be exhibited for the school exhibition. Because I and my friend are not chosen to do this, we go to the instrument class and practice by ourselves.

Today, we were told for the result for our theory quiz and I got bad score for this, at least I pass. I got around 18 and I think that's not very good, I need to improve in this theoretical music stuffs. And I got 7 for the performance of Symphony no. 30. I really not satisfied with that score and i decided to redo. I play Romance De Amor for the redo , I feel optimist about this because I play the whole song fluently without mistakes, and for sure this one I play the full song. The teacher immediately told us the score for the redo, I got 8.5 for the redo. I'm satisfied with this, because 8.5 is enough for me.

We had a quiz about the music theory, all theory that we have learnt until. I think it's not too hard we just need to make the major scales, triads, major seventh chord , first inversion and second inversion. But I have difficulty for the last two major scale. We don't have these two major scales, f and b flat scale. I write everything I know for the test. I hope I can get good score, maybe I should learn about these major scales.

The time has come, we need to perform the song we've prepared. I feel a bit nervous when I was playing guitar in front of the other students, but I think my performance was okay, but the song is too short that's why I feel a bit nervous. I fear that I will get a bad score for this. If needed I'm ready for a re-do, because myself not really satisfied about my own performance. The teacher also said that I am wrong in one part of the song, I can't reach the fret of the guitar perfectly and make the song ruined.

Today, we're supposed to perform the classical music we have prepared and chosen from the composer that we made for the booklet. I choose the symphony no. 30 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I have learn this song before so I can play it fluently but it's not complete and I think it's too short. Most of the students aren't prepared for the assessment so then, the assessment was canceled. I feel relieve too because myself was not ready that time.

Today we have a review about major scales and some major seventh chord. These are new things for music for me i haven't learnt major seventh chord and how to make the first and second inversion of a triad. I think inversion is not too hard I just need to get the lowest note of a triad and move it to the upper part of the triad for the first inversion. For the second inversion i need to put he second lowest note from the triad and put it on the upper part of the first inversion. I already learnt about major chord but I just learn major seventh chord, it's not too hard, because I already know how to make chord and a triad for the major seventh chord, the only thing that's different is only to put the seventh note a major scale to the triad or chord.

I've done the homework perfectly, but the teacher give us another task to make the major seventh chord for the rest of the major scales. Before that, some of my friends wants to re-do the singing assessment because they don't satisfied of their work for the assessment and some of them forgot most of the lyric when they did the real assessment. I'm so happy because I got nine for the singing assessment. The teacher told us about the last assessment before the idul fitri break. I need to make a booklet about the great musical composer I've chosen. And after the idul fitri break I need to choose one of the composer's music and perform it with my instrument.

The teachers check the music students' blog spot addresses. I give the wrong address of my blog. Because the teacher can't find my blog, so i log in to the website and look my correct address. Then, the teacher check my blog. I miss one post, because I haven't pose last meeting's reflection. And he ask me to add a video on the blog that show practices I've done for assessments. Maybe I should make the video for the next assessment which is play a song from a great composer. I will chose the composer of a song that I can play in guitar. There's a home work about making the seventh major chord of C, G, D and A.

Today, me and group did the the group presentation about the musical eras. starts from Baroque music, Classic, Romantic and the modern classic. I did the slide about the classical music's instruments. We have a problem on the making of the presentation, there's only one person who have a laptop. So , we need to make the slides in the same day as the presentation day. but at last , it's done. Our group did the presentation well enough even though it's a little bit short comparing to the others. I need to improve my cooperation skill if there's any group work, so that I can cooperate with my friends easily and better.

For the material i bring the biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart he is one of the greatest classical composer in the classical era. We need to make a group of 4, and discuss about the musician information that we brought from home and we need to make a short presentation about what have we discuss about the musical composers. There are 4 musical eras we need to research about. There are baroque,classical,romantic and modern classical era.i need to make the classical era.I got most of the info from the notebook and handouts that the teacher gave us. We did the presentation well, I explain the characteristic of classical music, the instrument of classical music and one of the greatest classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. For the next meeting i need to make a group slide presentation about the music eras. And for the individual presentation I need to start collecting information about my classical heroes or the greatest composer of all time, my version.

The time has come. I feel so nervous before the class start. but I'm really sure that when I've done the singing assessment I will be a hundred time more relief than before. But still I'm so nervous, my whole body is trembling. I already download the karaoke version of the song. Some of my friends sing so well, when it is my my turn I feel so nervous. I feel bad when i was singing, I can't stop trembling when I'm singing, the good news is I remember the whole lyric without any mistake. Some of my friend said that my performance was good, but I think it is so bad. From this assessment I really learned to be more confident in front of people. I really feel much relief after the assessment is done, I feel pity for my friends that need to perform next week because the class has over, I'm sure that they can't enjoy their weekend well. The teacher told us to prepare the material for the presentation, the next assessment.

I've got the song that I will sing for the assessment next meeting. The tittle is "Rhythm Of Love" By the Plain White T's. I choose this song because it was easy to sing, I already remember the whole song because I have listen to this song many times and the lyric is easy to remember. The teacher give us time to practice in front of the class even though it's only get in front, bow, and learn how to adjust the microphone so that when the real assessment come we can adjust the microphone easily. I need to practice a lot at home for the assessment.

I learned some theory of music in this session. i learned major keys from c until c#. I learned a lot for this theory because before I'm not too good for this, then now I know most of the major scales and know where to put the sharp symbols in every major scale. I just found a sort of formula for the major scale, first it start with c major scale which all notes are natural, the fifth note will be the next scale and the fourth will be the note with the sharp symbol for the next scale. But, I'm still confuse for the major scale with flat symbol. I need to learn more about the major scale for the flat symbol. i ask for help from my friends, the expert one, and learn a bit about the major scale with flat.

In this my every first class, the teacher told us what to bring in every session in the music class. And the teacher told us the first assessment next Thursday exactly at Thursday, 5 July. we need to sing any popular song and I can't and I'm so terrified about what am I'm going to sing for the assessment, but it sill next week, so I can relax a bit. For the next session I must start to think about the song for the assessment next week.
